This and that

Saturday Sully and I are flying to Phoenix again.  My beautiful cousin will be having her baby soon and I want to be there.  Her due date is July 10th but she could have him at any time now.  I have to say that each flight is an adventure.  I used to love the peacefulness of flying because I would nap, listen to music, and look forward to reading magazines.  Now it's definitely more of an upper body workout, but I wouldn't change a thing.  The truth is it's worth it.   One thing that helped me last time was having my husband get a pass to go through security with me even though he wasn't flying with us.  Trying to fold the BOB and put everything in the bins with one hand is hard!  So take it from me and get someone to help you through and keep them around to hang out with before your flight leaves.

I'll be in Arizona for a while and then my hubba hubba husband will be meeting my parents, Sully, and I in Orange County for a much needed trip to the beach.  Can't wait for that!!  Imagine bike rides, donuts, sea food, salt water, sun, frozen chocolate bananas, and a date for the two of us involving a wine tasting in downtown Laguna Beach.  It's going to be amazing.  I will be taking lots of pictures of our adventures in California and Arizona!

Another trip to the park on Tuesday:

breezy hair!

Love him!

8 months old...tons of photos

My oh my little man you are already eight months old today!
You started climbing everything this month!
You love standing up while holding onto just about anything for support, especially momma and poppa's hands.
Now you have three teeth (soon to be four) on the bottom and four teeth on the top.
You are FULL of smiles and the sweetest noises I have ever heard.  Today you said "ma ma" while crawling to me.  I had the biggest smile and my heart swelled.  You also respond to your name which is adorable.
When you are excited you scream and throw your arms up and down while bouncing.  You are very much on the go, always moving and discovering new things.
Excited!
Haha! you pulled down the fabric I put up for the pictures.
I love that face.
You just started sticking your tongue out this week.  You usually do it when you are crawling while also blowing bubbles.

Long eyelashes!
Climbing again!

Stats:
Still wearing size three diapers
It feels like he is 25 pounds at least but I will have to weigh him tomorrow to get the official weight
Wears anywhere from size 9 onesies to size 2T clothes depending on the style
Still breastfeeding like a champ.  So far he is just not very interested in foods.  Actually the one food he seemed to like the most was a red bell pepper :)
Sleeping in the crib is going pretty good.  He goes to bed around 7pm and wakes up between 11 and 12, goes back to sleep and wakes up around 3am, then goes back to sleep till 5 or 6am.  He takes one or two naps a day for 30 minutes to an hour.

Growing up I knew that I wanted to be a mom and that I loved kids in general but I had no idea how rocked my world would be once I had my own child.  I feel like my life has new meaning and I would do anything for him.  Each morning is full of excitement because I know I will be witnessing new things that Sullivan does or sees for the first time ever.  Its an amazing feeling.  I love him with all of my heart.

If I could hold this moment in my hands...

"If I could hold this moment in my hands
I'd stop the world from moving
I'd stop the clocks from turning

And we'll stop stop stop the world from moving
Stop stop stop the clocks from turning
Stop this night from fading away, fading away"

DIY Plant Pots

A little while back I had mentioned here that I wanted to make these pots.  They are called hypertufa pots and were sooooo easy to make.  I love how they turned out.  The tutorial was easy to follow just click on that link and it will take you through step by step.  I have alot of extra ingredients to make a ton more.  The key is collecting the right containers for the molds.

I just put some organic basil in there.

All in all a great project! Go make some!!!

Weekend wrap up

We had a great weekend!  On Saturday we went to the farmer's market and got some eggs, steak, raspberries, snap peas, honey, green onions, and a bag of spring mix lettuce.  The weather was really rainy though and we got soaked at the market.  Oh well!

Cute pictures of father and son.  I love their hands.
Sully in his highchair, he likes sitting in their and playing sometimes.

Sunday, we ate homemade breakfast sandwiches with a nutty wheat bread that I made, eggs, and bacon.  We hung out as a family and just really enjoyed our time together.

Sully made this painting for his papa.  I think it turned out adorable.

I got Arty this home brew kit and he was so surprised and excited.  They sell basic flavors at William Sonoma and one flavor at West Elm but if you go to the company's website there are lots of flavors to choose from.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Father's Day

Honey,
I hope that you have a really wonderful Father's Day!  Sullivan (and I) just can't get enough of you.  He is mesmerized by your voice, and loves to be in your arms.  It is amazing to watch the bond between you and Sullivan just grow stronger each passing day.  I love that we are on this adventure called parenthood together.  Our lives have changed so much since Sully was born, in a good way.  In a way so wonderful that I can't even put it into words that could give it justice.  I feel so full of love and am looking forward to many more years of this beautiful life that we have together.  Thank you for being the dad that I always knew you would be.  I love you.

Love,

~Megan

To my dad~
I love you so much.  Growing up you were always there for me. Whether it was swim meets, dance recitals, or school plays you would always make it there to cheer me on.  I loved that you had the summer's off so that we could explore the rock museum and eat beanie weenies and hostess cupcakes.  You are such a great role model and so fun to be around.  I hope that you know how much you are appreciated.  Thanks for being the best dad a girl could ask for.

Love,

~Megan

Little bit of a random post

Sullivan has started doing some really adorable things this week.

He is crawling.  For about a month he has been up on his hands and knees rocking but now he is full on crawling.

He also started trying to climb things.  Like my legs or his bumpo seat that was on the ground haha.

And he is a pro at sitting up on his own.  He'll go from crawling or rolling to sitting and its so fun to see!

One of my favorites though is him reaching for us to pick him up!

One random thing is that he loves brushing his teeth. I supervise but he gets so happy when I hand him the little toothbrush.

He doesn't sleep through the night yet, he wakes up 3 to 4 times a night but still manages to get about 10 to 11 hours of sleep each night.

A little of what I have been up to:

I started to do a few of these workouts and WOW my legs were dead and are still sore two days after doing these squats and I only did 150 of the 300 reps.    And this girls body is amazingly strong and motivating.  Go check out the links!

I've just been trying to clean, cook, craft, and chase little Sully around.  I am really looking forward to Father's Day and the weekend!

Happy Friday!

More fun at Scottsdale Quarter during our trip to Phoenix

There are quite a few outdoor mall's in Phoenix and Scottsdale that have these fun fountains for kids to run in.  We went to the one a Kierland Commons and the one at Scottsdale Quarter this past visit.  Here are some fun pictures.
