Soggy Days

This morning we woke up to a downpour.  After we dropped Arty off for school and ate breakfast the rain subsided and Sully was itching to get outside.  He was still in pajamas, but that's how we roll.

He literally rolled around in the grass.

Round one of playing outside resulted in a sink bath.

Looking for birds.

A boy and his trusty broom.

After his nap he practically put his shoes on himself because that's what he associates with going outside these days.

So out we went, again.

He ended up in another outfit after this because he settled himself into the only patch of mud he could find in the grass.

Sidenote:  We were upstairs when I saw a big raccoon waddling through this little area we had been playing at earlier in the day.  I picked Sullivan up so that he could look out the window too and within seconds he pointed in the direction of the raccoon and said "dot" which means dog.  Haha!

Just a little craft project I put together and hung up today.  I used the inner hoop of an embroidery hoop, coffee filters folded and glued, and this felt sign I got at Target last year for $1.  Cheap thrills!

Happy Wednesday!

Saturday Morning.

Saturday morning I woke up and the sun was shining.  I made Sully and I oatmeal for breakfast and brewed a pot of coffee.  I poured my coffee in a "to-go" cup, bundled us up and headed to the park.  The air was crisp but I was just excited to surprise Sully with a fun outing.

When we pulled up to the park Sully shrieked with joy.   I put my coffee cup down for just a second and when I went to go pick it up this is what I saw.  Thank you son.

Wild hair, like his momma.  One of these days he'll get a trim.

He was OBSESSED with the acorns I gave him.  Little treasures.

Wearing my brother's old worn in corduroy pants.  My brother is 25 now.

Jumping in the leaves and LOVING it.

Bouncing boy.

The old building next to the park.

Yesterday

Yesterday the weather almost reached 60 degrees here.  It was a beautiful day.  The clouds bounced playfully in the sky and the sun finally came out.  We soaked it up big time.

I think Sullivan and I both get stir crazy in the winter months.  He'll reach for my finger and lead me to the door so that we can go outside.  So outside we go.

I love seeing him explore and figure out new things.  We watched and listened for birds.

I took him to the park in the afternoon.

A cool breeze came.

But a little wind never stopped us from having a good time.

Pebble, branch, and pine cone art was made.

Oh my what a sweet boy!

P.S. Sullivan has started to give kisses now, complete with the sound effect of his sweet lips getting sucked in and being released.  His kisses are AWESOME!

Valentine's Day

Sullivan is such a sweetheart.  When he woke up from his nap this afternoon I grabbed my camera and snapped a few pictures of his delicious face.

He loves playing on the bed or couch.  Anything with pillows.

A few days ago I sewed these little angel pants for Sully.  The pattern looked kind of like little cupids to me. I loved the fabric so much I made a couple pillow cases for our bed this morning.  I just traced a pillow case that I already had, cut it out, then ran it through the serger and that was it.

Sully let me know that picture taking right after nap time is not ideal.  Duly noted my dear. Duly noted.

We finished off our Valentine's day with my first ever attempt at a souffle.  It turned out to be a joint effort but came together perfectly.

It was everything I dreamed it would be and more.  So creamy, light, and decadent.  Arty and I both LOVED it!

 Happy Valentine's Day!
