Weekend Recap

Well, Friday night Mr. S and I went to my aunt's house for what they said was "game night." Much to our suprise the game was actually the meal.  As in rabbit, quail, and elk, and trout.  These were the animals that they caught!  I was in shock because I thought that we were going to play games not eat game.  I ended up eating yummy trout, salad, and a raw chocolate and coconut cake that my cousin made.  It was really good!  On Saturday, I did a little shopping.  I'll post pics of my purchases soon.  Then Mr. S and I had lunch at Paradise Bakery, I love the asian chicken salad.  Later that night he set up a bath for me and made a delicious dinner!  Today, we went to the lab where he is doing his masters program project and then met up with family for lunch and then went to dinner with my parents.  Henry, our chocolate lab had been staying with my parents sincce we moved into this one bedroom apartment because they have a yard for him to play in.  Well, they fell in love with him and it was hard for us to take him back now that we are situated.  But today was the day, Henry is here now.  We missed him too much and he can still go over to my parents house during the day while we are away from the apartment.  Oh....and I painted to canvases with a big starfish in the middle.  I will post pics of that as well.  Let's hope this is a good week!

Weekend Project

This past weekend, along with some help from my brother I made this fabric covered "S" for our last name Sosa.  I bought a cardboard S from Joanne's it is around 10' tall.  Then I picked out some fabric and cut them into strips and tediously covered the letter.  My brother helped me staple with a staple gun while I maneuvered the fabric.  I love the way it turned out.  Let me know what you think!

New DIY-Sephora Style

Yes, this is both functional and pretty....I went to Joanne's to get the crushed shells and then I went to Target for the glass container. All in all I spent around $10. I realized that the glass container could be anything, I really think a vintage goblet would work! I will be on the lookout for something like that. I was having the hardest time finding my brushes in my train case since its black and most of my brushes are black. This solves my problem and I will never have to look for my brushes again...as long as I put them back :)

I have to brag about my wedding invitations created by my brother!

Ok, I know my wedding was back in July but I feel like I need to share some of the great details that went into creating that special day....so I will post one or two a week.

These great invitations were my very artistic and amazing brother's idea.  First, Stephen (brother) took our engagement pictures and then created this accordian style invitation with inserts.  They are breathtaking!  I still love looking at them because they are like a work of art...all of that and they were affordable!  Since they were such a hit with my wedding he has been able to do similar style invitation for a family friend's wedding.  Check out his photography website here!http://www.illuminatedphoto.com/home/index.html

My own resident Chef!

I have to be the luckiest wife in the world!  Arturo made a delicious dinner for me today.  I named it broccoli and beef with brown rice and a cabbage salad.  So so so good!  For those of you who don't know, Arturo LOVES to cook and I definately benefit from it.  I'll keep you posted on the next wonderful meal he makes.
