Little update

Last weekend we took Sully to the farm at our local university here.  Sully loved the animals, especially the cows and sheep.

He also had his first hayride.  He loved that it was pulled by a tractor.

Sully is mostly moved into his new bedroom.  I still need to do a couple things to really complete it but so far he really likes it.

This is his bed.  I love that he doesn't need rails because it's not far off the ground at all.  He climbs up and down on his own.  I painted the fish for him because all he ever wants me to draw are fish in his little notebook with crayons.

Belly at 28-29 weeks.  My last ultrasound had the baby measuring a little over a week ahead of my due date  which is January 3rd.  The ultrasound guessed December 24th.  So I guess its safe to say we will most likely have a holiday baby, either Christmas or New Year's.

When we ask for hugs he wraps his arms around our necks and squeezes and when we ask for kisses he smacks his lips together and plants one on us.

What a joy he is to have.  So so blessed.

Date Night

Tonight was a special night for Sully and I.
We went to a little organized mother/son date night at Chickfila.  We both got a bit dressed up for our first official "date."

The tables had balloons, flowers, menus that we ordered from, paper hats, and a little activity.

The big cow also made an appearance and Sullivan was a big fan!  He blew kisses, high-fived, and waved to that huge cow.

It was something sweet that I'll never forget.  I'm so blessed.

Big News

Oh yes I said I would be blogging more while on our trip to Phoenix and I have been totally slacking!

I have an excuse though.  At least I think I do.

I've been hiding a secret and I just can't take it anymore.  As you can see from the picture, Sully is going to be a "bro".  I'm nine weeks and one day pregnant as of today and am due at the beginning of January.  I'll go into more detail soon but just wanted to come out in the open and share this exciting news.

Four Months Old Yesterday

I just want to start off by saying that one year ago yesterday I went into the bathroom at work and took a pregnancy test and...two pink little lines never looked so beautiful.  I am so blessed.
P.S. I wrote this post yesterday but finished it today.

Dear Sullivan,
You are four months old today.  Every time I look at you I am so amazed.  I love scooping you up in my arms in the morning and seeing you smile and stretch your arms up over your head.  Playtime is so much fun, you love to make sweet noises and get excited sometimes.  You are such a happy boy.  Today when you were laying in your  play yard I couldn't help but laugh while you swung your arms boxer style at the little parrot that hangs down.  Your little legs were kicking excitedly too.  I love that you still love taking baths, it's something I look forward to everyday.  You light up my life more than I ever imagined possible little one.

Stats:
Weight: 18 Pounds (95th percentile)
Height: 27.3 Inches (97th percentile)
The doctor says you are just a big baby all around :)
She also thinks that your blue eyes are here to stay...we shall see.
And little one, you are getting your first tooth.  The doctor showed me and its coming in on the bottom.  No wonder you have been clamping down on my finger when you put it in your mouth.  Teething toys here we come.
You wear size 3 diapers now and sizes 3, 6, and 9 month clothes depending on the brand.
You are so curious about everything and are constantly turning your head to see things in all directions around you.
I love taking you places...I think you like going to the grocery store and Target with me.
Photo taken in Target 2.23.11
I know that you love to be held oh so much.
And I love carrying you in my arms or in one of the two carriers that I have.
You rolled over this week and it was so exciting.
You have started reaching for things that I am carrying like a banana, a bowl, or a piece of paper.
Baby boy you are learning new things every day...and I feel so special to be here to witness all that you do.
I love you!

2010 Special Moments

This year has been one of the best years of my life, if not the very best.  There were alot of "I'll never forget moments."
Like opening the big envelope that finally came in the mail with my husband on the phone and being the one to tell him he got accepted into dental school.  Then running out the front door and jumping into his arms when he got out of the car.  Let me just say that Arty really worked so hard to make that happen.
Like telling each other that it was time to start trying for a baby.
Like in February seeing that faint positive line on the pregnancy test in the bathroom at work.  I'll never forget Arty's expression when I asked him if he could see that positive too.
I'll never forget telling my parents and brother about being pregnant and the first thing my brother says when we sit down in regards to the huge gift bag (with the gift I had gotten to surprise my family inside) is "what's in there a baby."
My mom brought that gift (a framed picture that I took in Newport Beach, CA that said "baby on board" written into the sand) to dinner with my aunt, uncle and cousin Kaysie and put it on the table and my aunt and cousin started crying immediately.  Loved that surprise.
Like seeing our baby with arms and legs at 12 weeks and watching him bounce around.  We were amazed.
Like finding out our baby was a boy at 16 weeks.
Like letting everyone know with filled cupcakes with blue frosting :)
Like learning how to crochet from youtube so I could make our baby a blanket
I'll never forget having Kaysie at our 20 week appointment because I wanted her to see Sullivan before she left for an extended stay in Africa
It was amazing seeing Sullivan's face in 3D at my 28 week appointment
Like feeling Sully move in my belly
Like exercise dates with Kaysie and Arty
Like the labor and delivery of our precious gift and holding him for the first time
Like feeling helpless when Sullivan was put in the nicu for respiratory distress
And then feeling so happy to be able to take him home a week later
Like all of Sullivan's firsts:
First bath
First walk around the block
First smile
First time he said "goo"...I may have shed a few tears
First Thanksgiving at aunt Tammy's
First Christmas at home
First time he fell asleep on my chest
First time Arty soothed him

Wow that list is long...I am really looking forward to 2011.  I want to savor every second with my little family. Every moment  is a gift and if there is anything I have learned as the years pass, its that time is fleeting.  I just want to soak up this special time in our lives.
