Sweet Sunday

Started today off with a walk to Starbucks to grab a morning bun (soooo good heated up) for Arty and a non-fat latte for me.
This is what the command center of the BOB looked like towards the end of the walk. Water, empty latte cup, and my cute ipod.
Sleepy boy napping in the stroller.
Beautiful day here.  I parked it under this tree and let Sully nap while I played with my camera.
This was me playing around with the camera :)
When he woke up we went to the park and swung on the swings.
He was having fun but remember that he had just woken up.  He takes awhile to fully get energized after a nap. Haha!
We had a great day!!

And to top it all off Arty made this Asparagus and Shiitake Mushroom Risotto with mushrooms that we got at the farmer's market yesterday.

It was unbelievably delicious!  Thanks babe.

Weekend wrap up

We had a great weekend!  On Saturday we went to the farmer's market and got some eggs, steak, raspberries, snap peas, honey, green onions, and a bag of spring mix lettuce.  The weather was really rainy though and we got soaked at the market.  Oh well!

Cute pictures of father and son.  I love their hands.
Sully in his highchair, he likes sitting in their and playing sometimes.

Sunday, we ate homemade breakfast sandwiches with a nutty wheat bread that I made, eggs, and bacon.  We hung out as a family and just really enjoyed our time together.

Sully made this painting for his papa.  I think it turned out adorable.

I got Arty this home brew kit and he was so surprised and excited.  They sell basic flavors at William Sonoma and one flavor at West Elm but if you go to the company's website there are lots of flavors to choose from.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Weekend Randoms

On Friday after Arty (husband) got done with school we went grocery shopping, had some lunch, and went on a walk to Starbucks.  The weather was pretty nice and I just love getting out whenever the sun is out these days.  That was the first time Arty pushed the stroller and it was also the first time Sully has ever fallen asleep in there.  This gives me hope for tomorrow's stroller exercise class.  I plan to bring the ergo just in case he is not a happy camper.  I will be squatting and lunging my way through the mall with other moms.  Should be entertaining!  The class moves outside to parks when the weather warms up.  Which I thought was happening until is snowed today. Boo!  So back to the weekend, Friday night was normal just dinner, bath, and bed.  Have I mentioned how much I love bath time?  Seriously as soon as Sullivan hears the water turn on he starts laughing and "talking" to me! This is how I do bath time these days... first I put Sully in the bathroom on a comfy bathmat by the tub. Then I take a bath and slowly cool the water down.  Next, I bring him in the tub and he just melts and completely relaxes.  I know this method won't work forever but for now its great.  He loves it, I love it, we all win! Alright, Saturday we just hung out inside because is rained all day.  We ate good food and the three of us lounged around in comfortable clothes.  Today, I took Sullivan to church again.  It was nice and he fell asleep during the music at the beginning. After church I decided that I wanted to get a newspaper for the Sunday coupons.  So let me ask you where do you go to get a paper without getting out of the car due to snow and a sleepy baby????  Starbucks drive-through of course!   I want to try to save money and we'll see how the couponing (is that a word?) goes.  We spent most of the day playing with Sully, he rolled over again, watching netflix, snuggling up, and just enjoying our time together.

Weekend Recap

Friday night:

Well, we went out to dinner at place here that makes Kenyan food.  Arty and I shared a meal and Sullivan slept in his car-seat peacefully.  It was nice to get out of the house for a meal since we have been eating at home for most meals.

Saturday:

I did some cleaning and then we went to Sam's Club for some basics (paper-towels, water, big bottles of shampoo and conditioner) and went out to lunch afterwards.  We had Mexican food which is one of my favorite kinds of food.  I always get something small a la carte and eat the yummy chips and salsa.  It was nice out so I took Sullivan in the stroller and did some walking.  It feels so nice to walk outside getting the blood pumping and just breathing fresh non-frozen air in my lungs.

Sunday:

Well, I went and scoped out a church.  It was nice and big and reminded me of church back in Phoenix.  They had a huge coffee bar and hot chocolate bar and everyone gravitated towards that which was fun.  I though the music was really good and Sully seemed to like it.  After the music we spent most of the time in the  "family room" because Sully needed to eat.  There were comfy chairs and books and info on a MOPS group. I am thinking about joining.  I had never really heard of this group before but I am excited to go.  It meets twice a month and childcare is provided.  There is a guest speaker and sometimes you do crafts and meet in small groups.  Since I have mentioned before on this blog that it is hard being at home with a baby in the area of meeting people that I have things in common with.  So then after church I took Sully on another long walk. I also made cookies for Arty's classmates.  I made two kinds of cookies, chocolate chip and snicker-doodles.  I realized that if I ever want to make mass quantities of cookies I need to get another cookie sheet. Well, that's about it for the weekend recap.

We did manage to videotape Sullivan laughing so hard today.  I will upload it tomorrow.  I hope everyone had a great weekend.

A Couple "Firsts" This Weekend

On Saturday morning Sully and I walked to Starbucks.  I am more motivated to walk if there is a destination.  So that was cold but nice and it was our first time walking there by ourselves.

Then this afternoon I was feeding Sullivan and then he pooped...the poop came out of his pants on to my pants and I also got a good handful when I reached down to trap all that I could.  It was hilarious.  By the way, I am having a tough time getting the breast milk poop stains out of his clothes, and now my clothes too.  Any suggestions would be so appreciated.

And lastly, I was holding Sully this afternoon and Arty was getting ready to run to the grocery store to pick up a couple ingredients to finish dinner and he looked at me and said he wanted to take Sully to the grocery store with him while I took a bath at home.  Wow!  What sweet words to my ears.  So I took that bath and painted my toenails all before my two boys got back.  It was my first time alone without the boys and it was Arty's first time out with Sully alone.  I love that man.  He made a really delicious meal and then he made molasses cookies!!  I am thankful and blessed.

I had a very good weekend.  I hope you did too!
