Thrifty Finds

While I was in Phoenix, I went on a vintage treasure hunt of sorts at Goodwill.
I am not usually very lucky there but this time was different.  I found some great things.  Like these old patterns, barely used from the 1970's.  I want to make some of these outfits and see how they turn out.  I may alter some things a bit but we'll see...should be FUN!

Don't you think the "models" are so cute?

I also got these two fabrics that have a vintage vibe.  I am thinking about making a dress out of one of them.  Who knows?

THEN I came across some adorable little girl clothes.  I am aware that I don't have a little girl to put in these right now but maybe I will later, or I can give them as a gift to someone having a baby girl.  I just couldn't pass these up.

I think this dress is darling.

Not even sure what to say about this amazing tiny swimsuit.  It is in such great shape, I could see this as a decoration maybe framed on the wall in a little girl's room.  Lots of possibilities with this one.

I know this little number is handmade because I could see the notching on the seams.  Cute! I love handmade things.

Here's the back.  There are bloomers and its reversible too.

Now this little boy outfit warms my heart.  It is so cute on Sully.  It already fits and I am thinking he'll wear it for Easter.

Here's the back :)

This has turned into the longest post (for me) but I can't leave with out a picture or two of my sweet boy today.

We had fun at the stroller exercise group this morning.  I look forward to playtime with Sully every day and today he rolled tons and reached out his hands to grab everything and anything he could.  He also likes to stand up when I hold his hands.

Our Sunday

I took Sully to church today and he did AMAZING.

He slept when the loud music started and then woke up with about 15 minutes left of the service.  He played with his giraffe teether and then decided it was a good time to poop LOUD.  If the guy in front of us wasn't nodding off he would have definitely heard.  I only know he was nodding off because his wife kept elbowing him to wake up.

I took these pictures before we left for church.

We also took a family walk to Starbucks and ate some yummy meals today.  Sully has been rolling over both ways and pushing himself backwards.  He is never where I put him down anymore, he's moving around!  He also loves grabbing things with his fingers, he is so determined and I love seeing him discover new things.  So fun!

Pictures at the Scottsdale Quarter Fountain

If you ever make your way to Scottsdale I highly recommend checking out the Scottsdale Quarter.  It's an outdoor mall with stores like Giggle, H&M, Apple, and West Elm.  There are great places to eat too!  We had fun at this fountain that sprays water so kids can walk through it and get splashed.  Everyone was having a good time!

Joining TOMS For One Day Without Shoes

My brother, Stephen and I went to downtown Phoenix today and enjoyed breakfast and coffee at Lola's Coffee Bar.   We went BAREFOOT.  Keep in mind I really don't like my feet but we took pictures.

A few pictures

Its so nice to get fresh air outside here.
So I laid a towel out in the grass and snapped some pictures of this little one. I got a new camera and am not sure how I took the bottom photo but I love that you can see the small wrinkles in the palm of his hand.

Any one know how to make their blog wider?  My pictures are bigger and they seem to look ok on Google reader but they are cut off on the blog.  Advice!

Pedicure Tragedy

Today I went for a pedicure, my first pedicure since before Sully was born. To get by I have been painting my own nails since I have all the tools to do a decent job at home, BUT there is something so sweet about a professional pedicure. So I imagined my experience at the nail salon would be heavenly and that I would float out in a trance because I was that relaxed. Needless to say that did not happen. Here are the high points. I was quickly seated and wonderful warm water filled the bowl. My pedicurist asked me if I wanted a regular pedicure or the delux, I said regular. Then the heal of my foot made its way to the back of the water bowl thing and clicked something. Next thing I know my pedicurist is basically being drenched in water spouting out directly at her face like a strategically angled hose. All of the other customers are laughing, the other nail people are giving me looks, and my pedicurist is spitting out foot water and trying to dry herself off. Water was everywhere! The owner picks up a mop and says to me that I turned the dial. Why would there ever be a reason for water to go out of the foot bowl like that? I was so sad for my pedicurist and could barely look at her as she quickly did my nails, which by the way already need a touch up. I am tempted to go back and get them fixed, and I'm sure they never want to see my face again. Definately my most eventful nail experience.

M.I.A

Sorry I have been slacking on the blog lately. Sad to say Sully got sick during our vacation and ended up in the hospital for three nights with RSV. Such a heartbreaking thing to see your child uncomfortable like that. He is on the mend and we are so happy to be out of the hospital now. I hope he sleeps well tonight now that there are no cords attached to him and no alarms to sound. I will to be back to my normal blogging soon but for now I am going to hold Sullivan extra close and give him lots of kisses. He's such a strong baby, all the nurses said so and through everything he stayed happy and smiley. I feel so blessed to be his momma.
