Fun times & some randoms

Another great Monday with the babe.
We played like it was our job because it pretty much is.  On that note Sully started stacking these cups that my mom got him at wholefoods.  Its one of his favorite toys right now.

Side note:  He also recently started to make that clucking noise when you push your tongue up on the roof of your mouth.  Its really cute and if Arty or I start doing it he always starts in too.  Love love LOVE it!

Ok back to our day, Sully napped in the stroller while I took advantage of the great weather and hit the pavement jogging.
Then we went to the park again.  It's because we loooove the park on a nice day.

Hanging out.

Love this.
Screaming a happy scream :)
Talking.
Pulling his feet in.
He is amazing and so smart.  I love the expression on his face.
Right after this picture I ran over to him because he was thinking about getting out of the swing on his own.

Another mom came to the park with her little boy just about a month older than Sully.  I was excited to give her one of my "mommy cards" from minted.  If you didn't order yours go check them out here!  You just pay shipped and you get 25 free cards.  The designs are beautiful and modern and they come in handy when you meet someone new.

And on another random note, the white noise machine that Moms On Call recommends came today.  We're trying it out tonight so I'll let you know what I think tomorrow.

Laundry Helper

One thing that Sullivan loves to do is help me pull things out of the dryer.  It's one instance where taking things out helps!  He also loves to take freshly folded clothes that I am stacking on the couch and toss them on the floor, basically anything he can reach is fair game.

Sweet boy.

Looking for clothes that need to come out.

Pulling out clothes with both hands.

Tossing them down.

Standing on a mountain of clean clothes.

Thanks baby boy for helping momma get clothes out of the dryer today!

Sleep Training Night One

We made it.  Here is the rundown:
7:30pm bathtime
8:00pm bed
9:00pm woke up crying and standing in crib, cried for 35 minutes(I was so close to going in and holding him...those were the longest minutes of my life)
10:30pm woke up crying for 5 minutes
2:56am woke up and cried for ten minutes
6:36am woke up for the morning

This is where things started to get out of whack.  I nursed him and there was ALOT of milk because I didn't feed him at night.  He just kept drinking and I noticed that he had a little bit of a runny nose.  I cancelled our play-date due to the runny nose and went on with our morning.  Well, an hour after I fed him he vomited all over me and all over himself twice, my thoughts ran wild and guilt rushed in.  I immediately thought that he ate too much too fast and it upset his stomach so I stripped him down and we both hopped in the bath and I cradled him in my arms.  Almost instantly he fell asleep.  So I splashed the warm water on him and got him toweled off and went downstairs.  I had him wrapped in a soft towel and didn't bother with the diaper because he was sleeping so I just held him and let him nap.  When he woke up he didn't want to be put down so I strapped him in the ergo we went for a walk to Starbucks.  I figured the fresh air would do us good, or me good so I could clear my mind and get some perspective.  When we got back home the diarrhea started and my heart sunk.  I called the doctors office and we went in.  The virdict?  He has a cold and we just have to ride it out.  This means that there will be no sleep training for at least a week.  This means that the torture of last night was all for nothing because I'll just have to start over!  I hope tomorrow Sully feels better and more himself.  Right now he's snuggled up in his crib but you can bet as soon as I hear a peep from him I am going in and calming him down tonight.

Sleep Training Moms on Call Style

Last night I felt like I got run over by a truck.  Seriously, I woke up in not such a great mood because I was getting kicked and pushed in the bladder by a sweet baby boy for what seemed like hours.  Something finally just clicked and I decided that I need help with this sleep situation because he's only going to get stronger. I have seen countless bloggers rave about moms on call so I broke down and got more information.  Tonight is night one of three that is supposed to get your baby sleeping in their crib all night.  They said it will just get easier and easier after those first three nights.  I have shed tears over this because part of me loves going in Sully's room and rescuing my him when he cries.  Let me just say that I hate hate hate hearing him cry so this is not going to be easy for me at all.  The irrational part of me thinks that when he finally does sleep through the night it will be another sign that he is growing up and is not such a baby anymore.  We'll see how this goes.  I'll update tomorrow.

Empty Box + Baby+Rainy Day=Fun

Empty Box + Baby+Rainy Day=Fun

Sully loves this empty box.
Its going in the trash this week but tonight this box transformed into a boat, a pretend boat that is.  Sully sat and gripped the sides while I pushed that box in circles around our downstairs.  He had a huge delicious smile on his face.

He rocks the diaper and t-shirt look around here.

Um...I love those legs.

Blurry but I love the flappy arm dance that he does and I think its impossible to get a non-blurry picture of this because those arms are fast. :)

Just this week Sully started sharing things with me.  He'll reach out and give me a toy or a carrot stick. He also just started giving my face the best open mouth wet kisses.   Kisses, cardboard boats, flappy arm dance...today totally rocked.

Fresh & Fun Food

I have really grown to love going to the farmer's market each Saturday morning.  Of course it helps to wake up extra early to get a latte and a morning bun heated up at Starbucks first.  Plus, you have to get there early to get dibs on the best choice of produce.  Sully was a complete angel and the older gentleman behind us in line even asked me if he is always this perfect.  I said most of the time :)

He learned how to drink water out of this cup the other day.  It makes drinking water so much easier for him!  Speaking of that, both last night and tonight Sully opened his mouth like a baby bird under the faucet while the bath water was filling up.  It is the cutest thing.

Here was the stand that we got our veggies at.

We bought:
Beets
Carrots
Red Shallots
One huge heirloom tomato
An assortment of hot peppers
Green beans
Two yellow squash

See Sully enjoyed the carrot.  He gnaws on them and eats the little pieces.  Don't worry I watch him while he eats.
(ignore the horribly chipped nail polish)

Alot of the carrot ends up on his sweet face.

Dinner tonight:
Pork Chop
A giant slice of the heirloom tomato(and best $2 tomato I have EVER had)
Fresh salad with this Absolutely fabulous Greek dressing

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Blogs I adore

I am linking up with Kelly over at Kelly's Korner today to bring you a few of my favorite blogs.  I follow hundreds of blogs so narrowing down to a few favs is difficult but I'll do my best.  Since I am a new mom it seems that all of my most loved blogs revolve around babies too.

Project: Baby  Kristin is absolutely hilarious.  I have laughed while reading her blog probably more than any other.  She is a new mama to a beautiful baby girl and it truly is a joy to hear her perspective on things. I think she should write a book because she is that entertaining.   And to top it off she is stunning, seriously.  Go check this one out.

Dear Baby  Melissa has such a way with words.  Her writing is beautiful and she describes her family and life with such emotion.  I'm pretty sure I cried during the birth story of her daughter Everly.  I can't say enough about this one.   I am sure most of you already follow her but if not I highly recommend this blog!

Enjoying the Small Things  Kelle takes the MOST beautiful pictures of her little girls and of her fun and interesting life.  Plus, she is such an inspirational and talented writer.  My words don't do this one justice at all.  I can't say enough good things about it!

Stealing Baby Kisses   Ashley has an adorable baby boy close to my little Sullivan's age and it seems like we go through similar things.  I love her blog and I think we could be friends in real life.  She's totally honest and real and I love that about her!

I know I am forgetting some of my favorites but my little guy is begging for some play time right now so I'll leave you with these four.  Enjoy!
