Picture Overload

I don't think anyone can accuse me of not taking enough pictures of this little guy.  He's just so darn cute AND photogenic haha! Well, this morning I took him to the park where I am going to be doing mini Mother's day photo sessions with some friends next weekend.  We were scoping out some spots and just having fun wondering around.

 

He carried sticks around with him pretty much the whole time.

He was so proud standing on this stump.  Did a little marching there.

Completely mesmerized by the basketball hoop.

This rock pile was right across from the dog park.

Sully could have sat there all day watching those dogs.

Definitely a fun and beautiful day!

Fringe Garland

I made this fun fringe-y garland yesterday.  It definitely gives off a little hippy-Free People vibe which of course I LOVE.  It was one of the easiest things to make and I am really happy with how it turned out.  I am going to make some more in different colors and fabrics.  I think vintage fabric would look great too.  

I am taking some Mother's Day pictures for a few friends and I think these draped from trees would look amazing.

He approves :)

 I think the movement is beautiful and kind of reminds me of something that would be strung on a breezy island somewhere exotic.

 I made another bottle garden stake.  I really love the clear bottle.  Notice my chap-stick in the small planter? Yeah, Sully put it there!

Top 9

This is a list of my nine most beloved products as we transition into toddler-hood.

1.  Bob Revolution 2010 Model

I've said it quite a few times already on this blog but we love the BOB.  Its our only stroller and at first I thought we would need to get something small for quick trips or traveling but this one definitely is ALL we need.  Love love it.

2.  Canon EOS 30D Digital SLR

When Sully was born and for the first six months after I had a standard point and shoot camera.  I took tons of pictures that I will always treasure, however I can't help but look back and wish that I already had my SLR at that point in time.  I will NEVER regret getting this camera and still tell Arty that it was the best material gift ever.  Plus my brother helped me find it on craigslist during a trip to Phoenix(for a great price)! Thanks Stephen!

3.  Canon 50mm f/1.4 Lens

This is the only lens I have other than the kit lens my camera came with.  It is amazing what a lens can do.  My brother says that each lens you buy feels like getting a new camera and he is right because its like a total transformation.  I'm 100% satisfied with this purchase because for the kind of pictures I take (read toddler) this is all I need.  Maybe I will want something different in addition to this one as time goes on.  We'll see.

4.  ERGO baby original carrier

I couldn't have lived without this one.  I used it so so so much when Sully was an infant and we still use it now.  He is so content in there and it is really comfortable for me to wear even as he is getting closer to the 27 pound mark.  I keep mine in the car for when he falls asleep in the car-seat and I still need to run errands like grocery shop.  I will just strap him in and continue on.  We don't miss a beat with this thing.

5. IKEA Antilop highchair

Easy.  That is what this highchair is to me.  Sully likes sitting in it and I could care less about the mess he makes because there are no crevasses to lodge food into.  I just wipe it down after each use and that is it.  I also don't think you can beat the $20 price.

6.  Converse Velcro Chuck Taylor's

These were the first pair of shoes that actually fit WELL.  He has wide feet and these ones just worked like a charm for him.  He had baby TOMS in the same size and I could never get those to velcro shut.  Converse is where its at.

7.  North Face-Toddler Boy's Reversible Moondoggy Jacket

This was the only jacket he had through the winter here.  It is perfect because there is elastic around the hood so it hugged his head and kept him warm.  Essential when your child boycotts hats.  There is also elastic around the wrists so snow doesn't get inside.  The elastic had just the right amount of tension, not too tight.  I loved that it was reversible and it washed really well.  Great all around coat.

8.  Aden + Anais swaddle wraps

Right now I use these to cover up Sully's little legs in the stroller.  They are so light weight, so soft, and a perfect size.  When he was a baby I would swaddle him in these and also used them to wipe up spit-up.  

9.  Breville Compact Juicer

My picky little eater loves fresh veggie juice and I love that he loves it.  Cucumber, carrot, beet, celery, apple, lemon, kale...he drinks it up.  I've even made him popsicles out of the juice and he likes those too.  I am so happy about this purchase.

Well that about covers it!  I know this list is ever changing but I have a feeling most of these items will stick around for a while.

I love everything about this picture. 

Little man catching some Z's with his cute sunglasses on.  The weather was perfection (70 degrees & breezy).  Ahh...can't wait to repeat this day over and over again.

ps. The BOB is most cherished baby item by FAR.  I'll be back with a little list of my favorite kid gear.

Pittsburgh Zoo

This past Wednesday we drove up to Pittsburgh to check out the zoo.  We had a great time even though some of the exhibits were missing animals (hello where were the giraffes?).  The highlight of the zoo was seeing Sullivan pet a goat.  His face just lit up!

Am I the only one that gets a little sad seeing animals in captivity?

PS.  Sullivan totally slept nine hours in his crib one night this week.  My first time ever getting more than six consecutive hours of sleep in almost a year and a half! Good baby boy :)

Anthro Inspired: Bottled Garden Stakes

Hello!  I am linking up with From Mrs. To Mama for her March DIY link up today.

From time to time I torture myself and peruse Anthropologie's website.  Yesterday I saw these adorable garden stakes and immediately was INSPIRED.  They looked simple, sweet, and perfectly SPRING so I set out to DIY them in my own way. 

STEP ONE: I cleaned up an old wine bottle.

STEP TWO: Sullivan and I scoured our yard for a long branch.  Yay for neighbors with large trees!

STEP THREE:  I found some floral wire that I had never found a use for and twisted them around the bottle, securing them to the branch.

STEP FOUR:  I used a little hand shovel to dig a small hole in the grass and wedged the stick in the ground.

STEP FIVE:  Plucked some pretty stems in the yard to display in the vase.

That's it!

I want to get some jute twine to cover the wires but this works for now.  The whole project took me a few minutes and cost next to nothing.  I can't wait to make a few more!  It instantly added a touch of Spring to our little patio.
