Thoughts.

Here are some of the thoughts swirling around in my head lately.

-I wonder when Sullivan will start to wean himself.  He is about to be 15 months old and he is obsessed with nursing still.  I have nothing but good things to say about breastfeeding but at this point he is rougher, heavier, and harder to wrangle, lets not mention the nipple twisters (TMI alert) and I am tired.

-He's not sleeping through the night.  Our nights usually go a little like this.
7:00 to 7:30 bath time
7:30 to 8:00 I rock him to sleep
11 to 12 he wakes up, I rock him and put him back in his crib.  Or if I am functioning on autopilot I bring him into bed with me.
2:00 to 5:00am he wakes up and I almost always bring him into bed if he is not already there with me.
7:30-8:00am wake up to start the day.

There is definitely room for improvement here.  I am not worried about it because we all get plenty of sleep and honestly that is all that matters.

-He likes to eat:
apples
carrots
brown rice
blueberries
grapes
ice
orange peels(true story)
mushrooms
pumpkin and sunflower seeds
quinoa

-I am also pretty sure Sully has an allergy to milk.

This picture was taken after I tried giving him baby yogurt in November.  He gets contact reactions even when he touches milk with his fingers.

Sad!

-I started working out at the student rec center here.  They have child care for a few hours each day and it is  so nice to exercise again!  The first time I took him he cried but calmed down when he was held, the next time he cried for thirty seconds when I dropped him off and then started playing.  Yay!  I also took him to the pool three times last week.  He absolutely loves it and always has a great nap after.

-We got a juicer and have been enjoying all kinds of fresh juice!

This one was:
carrot
celery
ginger
 lemon
cabbage
apple

I just add ice and enjoy!

Well that is about all I have at the moment.

Little bit of a random post

Sullivan has started doing some really adorable things this week.

He is crawling.  For about a month he has been up on his hands and knees rocking but now he is full on crawling.

He also started trying to climb things.  Like my legs or his bumpo seat that was on the ground haha.

And he is a pro at sitting up on his own.  He'll go from crawling or rolling to sitting and its so fun to see!

One of my favorites though is him reaching for us to pick him up!

One random thing is that he loves brushing his teeth. I supervise but he gets so happy when I hand him the little toothbrush.

He doesn't sleep through the night yet, he wakes up 3 to 4 times a night but still manages to get about 10 to 11 hours of sleep each night.

A little of what I have been up to:

I started to do a few of these workouts and WOW my legs were dead and are still sore two days after doing these squats and I only did 150 of the 300 reps.    And this girls body is amazingly strong and motivating.  Go check out the links!

I've just been trying to clean, cook, craft, and chase little Sully around.  I am really looking forward to Father's Day and the weekend!

Happy Friday!

A couple funny things from today

So today I wanted to go on a run with Sully in the jogging stroller.  I got him all situated with a blanket and his "sofie" the giraffe toy.  Then I ran and he fell asleep.  When we got back home I took him out and didnt see the giraffe ANYWHERE.  My heart sank because that's not a cheap toy to just drop somewhere in a ditch.  I understand that may be an exaggeration but still, he loves the toy.  For about a minute I came to terms with it being gone but then I quickly decided that we were going to hop in the car and FIND THAT TOY.  I drove along the road and didn't see it until I came to a red light and then BOOM there it was laying in the middle of the sidewalk along a busy road.  I had no place to turn into to get it, I watched a lady jog past it and I was honestly worried she might steal it.  I finally parked and ran through muddy grass with Sully on my hip to get the toy.  I was very happy with myself.  After a good scrubbing "Sofie" is as good as new.

The other funny thing happened at Starbucks.  I was waiting for my drink to be made with Sully in my arms and I felt the telltale warm liquid run down my arm.  I grabbed a napkin and wiped my arm and Sully's mouth.   I got my drink and then sat with my husband for a little bit while he was studying.  As I walked out I noticed a  familiar white chunky liquid on one of the arm chairs (fabric one).  Turns out that small spit up I had wiped off me was actually much larger and left a small pile of spit up on the chair.  I felt bad for not cleaning it up sooner.

What I'm Loving Lately

The weather here has been so nice for the past two days.   I think its supposed to rain tomorrow...booo!  Anyway, I have been loving the sunshine!  I put Sully in the BOB and went on a long walk (three miles with HILLS) both yesterday and today.  He napped while I worked out.  I say that's a win-win situation for us.

This photo was taken Monday before stroller class.  He looks happy.  I'm loving those cheeks!

I also wanted to show you what our tree in the backyard looks like.
Its funny, I left town for a few weeks and this tree looked like a pile of sticks and now there are beautiful  blossoms on it.  I love how that works.

In the spirit of all things fresh and new, today I put Sully in the bumpo seat on our patio (in the shade of course) and he just watched me fill little paper seed starter cups up with some organic soil and I put seeds in there so we can have veggies.  I planted two kinds of organic tomatoes, a hot pepper mix, cilantro, basil, some wild flowers, and I think there is one more I am forgetting.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.  I am going to check out a farmers market tomorrow and hope that the forecasters are wrong about the rain coming back.

Thrifty Finds

While I was in Phoenix, I went on a vintage treasure hunt of sorts at Goodwill.
I am not usually very lucky there but this time was different.  I found some great things.  Like these old patterns, barely used from the 1970's.  I want to make some of these outfits and see how they turn out.  I may alter some things a bit but we'll see...should be FUN!

Don't you think the "models" are so cute?

I also got these two fabrics that have a vintage vibe.  I am thinking about making a dress out of one of them.  Who knows?

THEN I came across some adorable little girl clothes.  I am aware that I don't have a little girl to put in these right now but maybe I will later, or I can give them as a gift to someone having a baby girl.  I just couldn't pass these up.

I think this dress is darling.

Not even sure what to say about this amazing tiny swimsuit.  It is in such great shape, I could see this as a decoration maybe framed on the wall in a little girl's room.  Lots of possibilities with this one.

I know this little number is handmade because I could see the notching on the seams.  Cute! I love handmade things.

Here's the back.  There are bloomers and its reversible too.

Now this little boy outfit warms my heart.  It is so cute on Sully.  It already fits and I am thinking he'll wear it for Easter.

Here's the back :)

This has turned into the longest post (for me) but I can't leave with out a picture or two of my sweet boy today.

We had fun at the stroller exercise group this morning.  I look forward to playtime with Sully every day and today he rolled tons and reached out his hands to grab everything and anything he could.  He also likes to stand up when I hold his hands.
