Sparkle
I've always been a girl that LOVED sparkly things(glitter, sequins, DIAMONDS). I truly love everything about Christmas time(every single thing), especially the glittery lights. Well, I wanted to try taking pictures with a simple strand of white Christmas lights for the background. Here are the results.
He doesn't suck his thumb...just bites it. Darn molars!
I'd say it was a success!

Hello, this is me.
This is reality ladies.
Here we are, Sully and I playing on the floor with pots and a silicone spatula with toys littering the floor in the background.
If you walked in the front door today I would welcome you with bare-feet and messy hair. You would see piles of folded laundry that needs to be hauled up the stairs and dishes that need loaded in the dishwasher. Since becoming a momma I'm OK with those things taking longer to get done.
This is me having one of the best days of my life, and I will hopefully do it all over again tomorrow.

Bang Reveal
I told you yesterday that I chopped bangs into my hair. Sooo here is how they turned out.....
I think they are pretty cute. Not perfect, but cute none-the-less. My hair in general is a messy/bed-head/beach hair kind of style so I think it works.
What do you think? Am I totally crazy for doing this?? Hahaha!
Out for a run in the sun with the babe.

Little bit of a random post
Sullivan has started doing some really adorable things this week.
He is crawling. For about a month he has been up on his hands and knees rocking but now he is full on crawling.
He also started trying to climb things. Like my legs or his bumpo seat that was on the ground haha.
And he is a pro at sitting up on his own. He'll go from crawling or rolling to sitting and its so fun to see!
One of my favorites though is him reaching for us to pick him up!
One random thing is that he loves brushing his teeth. I supervise but he gets so happy when I hand him the little toothbrush.
He doesn't sleep through the night yet, he wakes up 3 to 4 times a night but still manages to get about 10 to 11 hours of sleep each night.
A little of what I have been up to:
I started to do a few of these workouts and WOW my legs were dead and are still sore two days after doing these squats and I only did 150 of the 300 reps. And this girls body is amazingly strong and motivating. Go check out the links!
I've just been trying to clean, cook, craft, and chase little Sully around. I am really looking forward to Father's Day and the weekend!
Happy Friday!

April 18th is...my birthday, my 27th one in fact
Ahh, today is my 27th birthday. I am almost in disbelief that another year has come and gone already. This time last year I was happily pregnant. I don't know about anyone else but those nine(technically ten) months seemed to go by so slowly. Not in a bad way at ALL. Its just that each week I would check the "What to expect" book, several different websites, other blogs, and youtube to try to see what our little peanut could possibly be up to at that moment in time. Now when I look back it seems like those months flew by!
Ok so back to my birthday. I had a great day. It was special and sweet. Sully and I had stroller class and then met up for lunch with Arty. We shared a really good sandwich and diet root beer YUM. Then later Arty cooked a delicious steak dinner for me along with a tasty salad. And, he surprised me with a Dairy Queen ice cream cake. I love those cakes...vanilla and chocolate ice cream layers with a yummy fudgy crunchy layer in the middle. He also got me a new ipod and new headphones which I am so thankful for. Here are some pictures I took this afternoon.

1st MOPS Experience
Yesterday I went to a MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) group for the first time. I was nervous, excited, scared you name it and I probably felt it. I just kept reminding myself that if I am serious about meeting people and trying to make friends here I need to be able to follow through. Silly yes, but this is how I was convincing myself to go. So anyway, I woke up and gave Sully a bath, got us dressed, ate breakfast, made coffee, pumped a four ounce bottle, and dropped Arty off at school. Then it was time to head over to the church where the group meets. I also called my mom who encouraged me that this was a positive thing for me and for Sully. So I followed the signs and walked in. I saw rooms for 5,4,3, and 2 year olds. I briefly thought ok if I want to leave I can because it doesn't look like there is a room for the infants. A nice lady told me where the nursery was so on we went towards the nursery. I filled out some paperwork and just got the diaper bag and bottle situated. A couple other mom's with babies walked in. Some babies could crawl and others could sit up on their own. I left Sully there and went to the room where the event would be. They had brunch and coffee there and all I had to do was fill out some paperwork and put on a name tag. They just started a table for the new people so I found my seat. Everyone at my table was really nice. It was great to just chat with mom's. It's been a while since I had any girl talk in person. I kept expecting one of the nursery workers to come find me (because they don't let the babies cry, if they can't be soothed within a couple minutes they go find mom) but they never did. The whole two hours I just sat with the women and my table and talked. It was truly refreshing. When I went to go pick Sully up he was in a swing sound asleep where he had been the WHOLE two hours!! Never ever does he take two hour naps for me, plus he hardly likes our swing. I was in awe because there were about ten babies there and it was not quiet but there he was peacefully asleep. A-mazing! So needless to say we signed up and will be back. The whole experience was like a breath of fresh air. Thank you to those who encouraged me here :)

Beauty Secrets
So Kelly over at Kelly's Korner posted a fun linky party about what her daily beauty secret's are and so I though I would join in on the fun.
1. I wake up and use this oil cleanser by Shu Uemera. The smell is intoxicating and since the winter is so harsh on skin I find this really soothing.
2. Then I put on a tinted moisturizer. I like this one from the Boots brand at Tarjayyy. Plenty of coverage and I think it just melts right into my skin and totally evens everything out. Plus SPF!
If I was going to put on foundation it would definitely be this one by Benefit. The lady at Sephora told me that this makeup adjusts to your skin color no matter if its in the dead of winter or the peak of summer and...SHE WAS RIGHT! One foundation all year...I'm IN.
3. I LOVE like make up and I have alot of it.
Its hard to say what type of makeup I put on next. Usually, I curl my eyelashes with this.
And then I brush some of this on my eyelashes.
Favorite eyeshadow...super sheer colors with lots of sparkle. It's called Starry Eyed baked eyeshadow by Lorac.
Then I may put on some bronzer or blush. I like the bronzer that comes in the blockbuster kit from Sephora because it doesn't have shimmer in it.
Face Powder...I really like this one by Benefit. You can't even see it, which is why I like it.
My favorite chapstick has to be this one by Fresh. Oh my!! It feels amazing. I have tried just about everything and this one is by far my fav.
Lipgloss hands down is Sugar Cookie By Bare Minerals. Impressive because its not sticky at all, tastes yummy and is a great color.
Ok, that's about it! I would love to hear about everyone's tips and favorite beauty secrets.

Things to Know About Me
Joining the fun with Little Miss Momma
I can't stand the gunk that builds up on lotion bottles and that little piece that lands in my hand disgusts me
I really don't like those square pieces of paper that fall out of magazines trying to convince you to buy a subscription, even if you already have a subscription they are still there...why????
The best jobs I have had so far involve kids...babysitting or teaching swim lessons

I have a new found respect for my body after being pregnant and having my baby boy. I wasted so much energy being critical instead of being grateful...never again (I hope)!!!
I could live on bananas with peanut butter...basically any thing with peanut butter
I love making my little baby SMILE it just melts my heart with delight
Once when I lived in Newport I was on a donut diet that consisted of one donut for every meal of the day for AND surprisingly whenever I visit that beach town its still my first and last stop
When I was 14 I got Bell's Palsy (the whole left side of my face was paralyzed) and I was so scared that I had a stroke I hid it from my parents for a week. Needless to say there I was a freshman in high school with braces, a crooked smile, and an eye that wouldn't blink in unison with the other. Thankfully it went away in 6 months.

I won't eat soggy food
I'm 5'10
My hair used to be naturally blond and now every year its getting darker and that makes me sad
Its a good day if I've taken a shower

Our 1st Wedding Anniversary In Newport Beach Part 1
This is just as we drove in to the peninsula for the first time during our trip.
Just arriving at the beach!!! We spent most of the day at the beach on Friday and then we checked into our hotel and showered before we went to South Coast Plaza. It is the BEST mall in Southern California and we ate at Wahoos Tacos (delicious) and then went to H & M. I got some maternity shirts, and a pair of jersey capris with a fold down waist band.
This was at a little outdoor French Bakery at the mall where we stopped and had coffee, decaf for me!
25 Week baby bump! This was taken on Saturday morning before the beach. Those are my swim bottoms.
A little history on these donuts. I lived in Newport for a year and would walk to this donut shop called Seaside Donuts every day. I often had a donut for breakfast, lunch, and maybe dinner. I know it wasn't a healthy diet but they are soooooooo good. So here we are on Saturday savoring our favorite donut and an AMAZING ham and cheese croissant. We are convinced that these are the best in the world!
We parked our car down further in the neighborhood on Balboa Peninsula and then walked down to the Wedge, which is were we got married.

First Wedding Anniversary on July 18th! We're off to celebrate there this weekend!
My husband and I are off to Newport Beach, CA in the morning to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary over the weekend. This is also a bit of a "baby-moon" because we don't have any other trips planned before little Sullivan arrives in October. I am excited for this weekend away to visit some of our favorite spots and to just soak up time with him before he starts Dental School in August. We certainly have lots of change in store for us and I am really looking forward to this new adventure we will be on. I love southern California beaches and hope that one day we can live near one.
