A couple funny things from today

So today I wanted to go on a run with Sully in the jogging stroller.  I got him all situated with a blanket and his "sofie" the giraffe toy.  Then I ran and he fell asleep.  When we got back home I took him out and didnt see the giraffe ANYWHERE.  My heart sank because that's not a cheap toy to just drop somewhere in a ditch.  I understand that may be an exaggeration but still, he loves the toy.  For about a minute I came to terms with it being gone but then I quickly decided that we were going to hop in the car and FIND THAT TOY.  I drove along the road and didn't see it until I came to a red light and then BOOM there it was laying in the middle of the sidewalk along a busy road.  I had no place to turn into to get it, I watched a lady jog past it and I was honestly worried she might steal it.  I finally parked and ran through muddy grass with Sully on my hip to get the toy.  I was very happy with myself.  After a good scrubbing "Sofie" is as good as new.

The other funny thing happened at Starbucks.  I was waiting for my drink to be made with Sully in my arms and I felt the telltale warm liquid run down my arm.  I grabbed a napkin and wiped my arm and Sully's mouth.   I got my drink and then sat with my husband for a little bit while he was studying.  As I walked out I noticed a  familiar white chunky liquid on one of the arm chairs (fabric one).  Turns out that small spit up I had wiped off me was actually much larger and left a small pile of spit up on the chair.  I felt bad for not cleaning it up sooner.

Randoms

What we've been up to:

Saturday I decided to take Sullivan to Ikea.  Its an hour and a half away but I packed us up and we headed out to be there when it opened.  Sully napped the whole way there.  Once we got there I put him in his stroller and stuffed the Ergo carrier in the basket below just in case he wanted out.  Well, he had a few major screaming spells.  I just bounced and walked with him and nothing seemed to calm him down.  I think he probably just wanted to play on the floor and not be strapped in to anything.  It was a huge scene, and of course as I checkout he totally calms down and falls asleep.  Sooo we went to H & M and I got three shirts and two dresses on sale.

Sunday we went to church and just hung out.  I have been loving Pinterest.  I don't know if my explanation will do it justice but its a website where people can post their "pins" or basically bookmarks of things they find and like online.  It's an amazing resource of ideas and inspiration.  I am literally exploding with ideas on the DIY section.  Go check it out if you haven't already.

Sullivan has been rolling everywhere.  It's truly amazing how mobile he is.  He especially loves paper products.  So we have to keep those things up and out of his way or he will inevitably find them and put them in his mouth.

He's started banging on things with both hands in unison.  Its really adorable.  And he also has started being more interested in books, which is fun!

Arty, my husband is taking finals all week so he is studying TONS.  Then he get's one week off before starting again.

Here are some sweet pictures of the little man today.

First trip to the park...Lots of pictures

Yesterday the weather was pretty nice here so I strapped on the Ergo and took Sully on a walk to a nearby park.
I laid down a blanket for us to just sit and relax while getting some fresh air.

The sweetest baby toes ever!

And now on to the SWING!

Yeah he loved it!

What a perfect day!

Embroidery Hoop Wall Art

I've been wanting to do this craft forever but I just never got around to it.  Finally, today I bought the embroidery hoops for a couple dollars a pop.  I picked up both the navy polka dotted and turquoise striped fabric at Ikea on sale for $1.99/yard a while back and thought this was a perfect opportunity to use a small piece in Sully's room.  Then it was a no-brainer to pick the other fabric, which is special to me because it's the same fabric I used to make the bumper for the crib.  I just love the colors!

This was the most instantly gratifying project I have done in a while, besides the chopping up of the jeans.
It took no time at all to do a rough cut of each fabric, put the fabric over the inner hoop, secure the outer hoop over the fabric and inner hoop, and then tap a small nail in the wall.Photobucket
If you are looking for a super quick and EASY little craft, I think this is the one!

Bowl O' Succulents

Today I was inspired by the beautiful weather here and desperate to get some more green in the house.
Soooo I went to Lowes and got this bowl (thats actually plastic) and these little succulents.  Then I filled the bowl with dirt and wah laaa this is the finished product!

Pretty!

Those are called baby toes!  I had to have them when I saw the name.

Next up I am totally making these pots!  Whats your next project?  I'd love to know!

First Easter

Sullivan on Easter morning in the vintage outfit I talked about in this post.  We were on our way to church when it was discovered that our wallets were stolen out of the car overnight.  So we cancelled all of our cards and went to Cracker Barrel.  Sometimes things don't go as planned but you just have to make the best of it.

This was the first (of many) blanket I made him when I found out I was pregnant.

I love his hand up at the top of the picture.  He does this thing where he opens and closes his fingers on EVERYTHING.  You can actually hear him doing it sometimes...he has fast fingers. :)
