April 18th is...my birthday, my 27th one in fact

Ahh, today is my 27th birthday.  I am almost in disbelief that another year has come and gone already.  This time last year I was happily pregnant.  I don't know about anyone else but those nine(technically ten) months seemed to go by so slowly.  Not in a bad way at ALL.  Its just that each week I would check the "What to expect" book, several different websites, other blogs, and youtube to try to see what our little peanut could possibly be up to at that moment in time.  Now when I look back it seems like those months flew by!

 Ok so back to my birthday.  I had a great day.  It was special and sweet.  Sully and I had stroller class and then met up for lunch with Arty.  We shared a really good sandwich and diet root beer YUM.  Then later Arty cooked a delicious steak dinner for me along with a tasty salad.   And, he surprised me with a Dairy Queen ice cream cake.   I love those cakes...vanilla and chocolate ice cream layers with a yummy fudgy crunchy layer in the middle.  He also got me a new ipod and new headphones which I am so thankful for.  Here are some pictures I took this afternoon.

Recent Pictures

We went to the farmers market today.  It was packed!  I got some fresh spinach and scallions that are huge.  Everything at this farmers market looked great.  I want to try some of the fresh goat cheese next time.  It did rain today and it was sooooo windy.

What I'm Loving Lately

The weather here has been so nice for the past two days.   I think its supposed to rain tomorrow...booo!  Anyway, I have been loving the sunshine!  I put Sully in the BOB and went on a long walk (three miles with HILLS) both yesterday and today.  He napped while I worked out.  I say that's a win-win situation for us.  

This photo was taken Monday before stroller class.  He looks happy.  I'm loving those cheeks!

I also wanted to show you what our tree in the backyard looks like.

Its funny, I left town for a few weeks and this tree looked like a pile of sticks and now there are beautiful  blossoms on it.  I love how that works.  

In the spirit of all things fresh and new, today I put Sully in the bumpo seat on our patio (in the shade of course) and he just watched me fill little paper seed starter cups up with some organic soil and I put seeds in there so we can have veggies.  I planted two kinds of organic tomatoes, a hot pepper mix, cilantro, basil, some wild flowers, and I think there is one more I am forgetting.   

I hope everyone has a great weekend.  I am going to check out a farmers market tomorrow and hope that the forecasters are wrong about the rain coming back.

Embrace The Camera 4.14.11

This week I have been in awe of Sullivan.  When I look at him and see his excitement over simple things, I feel like I am seeing things in a new way, a much better way.  He stretches his arms out, the palms of his hands open for a crumpled paper napkin like I would reach for a pair of designer jeans discounted to $9.97...hey its happened before people.  The point is that to him, everything is new and wonderful no matter the price.  I need a little more of that in my life.

Rainy Day

We had another rainy day here so we stayed inside mostly and I took some pictures of Sullivan. He started doing this high pitch scream.  It is so cute because it comes out of nowhere and he'll be screaming while he plays or rolls for a few minutes continuously. 

Everything goes in his mouth lately because....he has another tooth!

I snuggled with this boy oh so much! I planted smoochers on his neck and held his hands so he can stand up.   I have a full heart.

Everyday I when I look at this baby boy I try to soak everything about him in because I know that at that very moment he is the smallest and youngest he'll ever be.  I can't believe he's almost six months old already!
